Devanshi Dubey, a biology student at the University of California, San Diego, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 2021, at 19, after moving to the U.S. for college, despite experiencing symptoms throughout her life. In addition to CF, she manages eosinophilic asthma with bronchiectasis and allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA). Despite these challenges, she has made remarkable strides in her health journey.
In 2024, she achieved exciting milestones, including skydiving from 13,000 feet and completing a seven-hour hike. She also received a Live Fearlessly Grant for running shoes, which she uses to stay active through regular running.
In February 2025, she spoke at BreatheCon, hosted by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where she highlighted the importance of self-advocacy with CF. She shared her personal journey of advocating for herself among friends and family while confronting the misconceptions and judgments surrounding the condition. She also discussed common misunderstandings about CF and provided strategies for effectively challenging them, empowering others to speak up for themselves.
Through her dedication to fitness and resilience, Devanshi continues to redefine what it means to live with CF, proving that limitations do not define her journey.
